Fire on the Mountain & Music for the Kids!!

Local Bands Heartstrings and The HayBoys are having their Second Annual Music Benefit “Fire on the Mountain” Saturday October 28th, at the Trail & Saddle Club in Carmel Valley from noon to dusk. Joining them will be their friends Homefire, Diane Donnely & the Yes M’aams , and The Old Buds for a day of incredible music, Carmel Valley sunshine, great hospitality, old friends, dancing, barbeque, and more music!

This year’s proceeds will go to the Tularcitos School Music Program and the Seaside High Music Program, as well as the Osgood Family Firefund. There will be a raffle for music related goodies from CDs to musical instruments, and we are still accepting donations. Playable instruments languishing in your closet, which you would like to pass onto deserving students, will be gladly accepted!

While the day’s focus is on MUSIC and Music Programs in Schools, this year’s theme “Fire on the Mountain” refers to the fire that destroyed HayBoy Mike Osgood’s house on Laureles Grade a few months ago. All the musicians involved rallied to support Mike and his family, who appreciated the thoughts of their fellow musicians, but are doing fine. Therefore, a portion of the days proceed will go to the Osgood Family FireFund to benefit local Fire Departments that responded that day, as well as the Osgood’s tenant who lost everything in the fire.

Ticket Donations are $10.00 available at Do Re Mi Music, The Running Iron Restaurant, Mid-Valley UPS Store, or by contacting Lori Carter at (831) 917-4735 or gypsyorlori@hotmail.com.

So dust off those dancin’ boots and get yourself down to the Trail and Saddle Club Saturday October 28th, and help keep the music alive and well in our local schools!
